To replace sections of gutter that are bent dented or rusted beyond repair. When drilling try to use the same holes from the old gutter corner. Apply silicone and reassemble. Patches sealants step 1.

If your home center or hardware store doesn t sell pre bent flashing ask an aluminum siding contractor or local sheet metal fabricator to bend some for you. Place a 4 x 4 block of wood inside the good section of gutter next to the section you will be removing. With gutter replacement you can prevent water from running behind your gutters by installing a metal gutter apron flashing under the shingles and over the back edge of the gutter. Position the new corner and drill holes for the pop blind rivets.

Then apply a sealant to the joints sparingly so water doesn t become trapped. Most home centers sell white and brown sections of gutters as well as slip joints to tie them together. Seamless gutter you don t need to replace the whole thing. Apply plastic roofing cement step 3.

If your gutters are white or brown adding a section of gutter to an existing section is easy. Clean the downspout joints and replace the gaskets step 5. Check the downspout step 4. Use a pop blind rivet tool to install new color matching rivets.
